Looking on the bright side

It’s important to stay positive, but that isn’t always easy, especially at times like this. One thing that I like to do to put me in a good mood is to look at news sources that focus on the positive things. While it’s important to look at balanced and unbiased news sources, at the same time most of the news is stressful or negative.

Reading or watching about positive stories is a great way to relax. Some Good News by John Krasinski is a good example of this, and it also happens to be something I found through this class. I have only seen a couple episodes, but I think it is a great idea for YouTube Channel.

With all of the terrible things that the coronavirus brought along with it, there is a bit of upside. One example I have found to be true is many people are able to spend more time with their families. Parents are able to spend more time with their children, and siblings with one another. I come from a family of 7, and this is the first time we have all been home simultaneously in a long time.

Hopefully nations will be better prepared against potential future outbreaks so as to limit the destructive impact. Hopefully citizens that contributed to the spread of the virus by not taking it seriously learned from COVID-19. Hopefully the long-term economic impact of widespread quarantine will be better than predicted. Hopefully when all of this is over, people will come out of with a new-found respect for all of the essential personnel risking their lives to try and stop the outbreak

It’s important to have hope, though, for whatever it may be. Hope helps us power through the bad times so that we can enjoy the good ones.
